Citizens of Same hesitate on three-tier government system

KILIMANJARO - Citizens of Same District in Kilimanjaro region have urged the government to improve on the performance of the current two-tier government system, instead of jumping to the three-tier one - which is bound to be a burden to the country.
In the draft constitution forum organised by KWIECO Organisation through the funding of the Foundation for Civil Society (FCS) more than 95 percent of about 100 participants said Union Matters should be increased from seven as stipulated in the draft to ten - by adding education, gas and minerals.

KWIECO also conducted another forum at Vunjo, in Kilimanjaro rural. There, participants proposed for one government as a lasting solution to all Tanzanians and the Union that has lasted almost five decades now.
“Having three governments will drag us back to where we were in 50 years ago, but if we decided to have one government it will be better for all,” said one of the participants Immaculate Mworia.
