    First round grantees in training

    2012
    JUNE
    06th

A total of 376 grantees from the first round of grants issued by the Foundation this year are participating in Manage Your Grant training. The training equips grantees with basic skills and knowledge in managing their projects so that they can achieve intended outcomes. They are taken through various modules such as financial management, monitoring and evaluation, project management and the project cycle.

Commenting about the training, Sylivund Mugere from the Human Rural and Urban Multi-sectoral Advancement organisation based in Kagera, said “This is the first MYG training that I’m attending and I must say it is useful. The topics are very well planned.”

Irene Lyimo from Upendo Care and Counselling in Mwanza said she intended to share the knowledge with other organisations in her region because she believes many of them need it. “The training was very enriching and it will help us in improving the performance of our organisation,” she said.

The training which is in Dodoma started on 21 May and will be completed on 8 June. The grantees are divided into three different groups that each attend training for five days.

In another development, the Foundation is also currently conducting information session on its grants making service in Arusha and Mara regions. The regions were targeted as they were found to have the least number of successful applications.
