Civic leaders boycott key meeting

Local leaders and council executives in Kibaha once again boycotted a symposium on development organised recently by the Kibaha Network of Non-governmental organisations in the district. This is the third symposium that the leaders have boycotted.

The district commissioner Halima Kihemba who was chief guest expressed disappointment over their absence and warned that she would take action including asking the district council to institute penalties for this kind of behaviour.

The dialogue whose main theme was good governance and accountability was sponsored by the Foundation for Civil Society as a platform for civic leaders to meet their constituents to discuss development issues.
