Final verification for first round grant applicants starts

    2010
    JUNE
    21st

Officers of the Foundation for Civil Society have started carrying out due diligence exercise in order to ascertain the validity 128 applicants recommended for funding during the first round of 2010 grant applications.

The due diligence exercise, which is carried out throughout the country started in the third week of June and  will involve verification of 35 applicants under the Registration Development Grant (RDG) programme, 45 applicants under Rolling Small Grant (RSG) and 48 applicants under Medium Grant (MG).

Initially, a total of 647 grant applications were received under different grant programmes of the Foundation, but screening by the Programme Officers disapproved some applications and forwarded to the Management 168 applicants with recommendations for funding and 28 for further discussion.

The Management approved 128 applications for funding, subject to findings of the due diligence exercise. Furthermore, the Management decided that the Foundation for Civil Society should provide capacity building services to 56 applicants whose projects were focusing on capacity building, apart from the 128 applicants approved for funding.
